a timeless dance
skeleton newlyweds
tend to get hot and bothered

to guide restless bones home—

Wombwell Rainbow Interviews: Eliana Vanessa
I am honoured and privileged that the following writers local, national and international have agreed to be interviewed by me. I gave the writers two options: an emailed list of questions or a more fluid interview via messenger.

conversation with a dull razor
go back
to the sting
of disillusionment
you know so well,
and don’t let me
catch you
cavorting with the sacred
on this side of hell anymore—
noir at the heart of murder
there is
some kind
of magnifying glass
we put ourselves under,
a way to keep safe distances,
keeping
everybody else’s
best interest in mind,
in case
what we happen to find

a kiss in the dark
how do I say
blackbird
there is no more light?
intersecting dreams
only you dared to invest
in the flicker of it–
of something vastly misunderstood
and hidden.
under broken fixtures
swallowing muted glow
falling between the spaces,
a loneliness we excavated.
